Man pens witty, kind letter and airline actually drops his fee

Sometimes you have to do things the old fashioned way.

After a sudden illness in March, Alex Hamberger from Buffalo, New York, was forced to cancel a flight he was scheduled to take to visit his niece, which resulted in a $200 fee. 

But instead of submitting to the loss, Hamberger decided to write American Airlines a letter in an attempt to drop the fee.

Hamberger told CNN that he figured an email would get "lost in the shuffle," so he penned a handwritten letter and included a few photos of himself and his niece for good measure.  Read more...
